Goonj is an NGO that is working to re-establish the economy from cash-based to cloth-based in needy areas. With programs like “Cloth For Work” the organization mobilizes community development projects, paying villagers in cloth, rather than cash or food. We like the simple premise that one man’s trash is another’s treasure; cloth is sourced from donations and is then recycled into a usable and helpful commodity. No one goes naked and everyone’s lives improve—sounds like a win-win to us!
